Enable and Configure Online Collections Payments
Learn how to set up and manage online payment options in Centime, including how to, configure credit card and ACH preferences, and provide customer access through the Customer Portal.

⚙️ Configuring Online Payments (Global Settings)
To enable online payments for all customers:
- Navigate: Settings > Receivables > Online Payments
- Click the pencil icon to edit.
- Toggle Receive online payments to Yes.
Note: Turning on this setting does not automatically enable online payments for individual customers. You must configure customer-specific settings as outlined below.
🎨 Customer Portal Branding
Manage Receivables clients can offer a branded experience:
- Navigate to: Settings > Company Profile > Company Information
- Upload your business logo
- To modify your Company Name, please contact your customer success manager.
The logo and company name will display:
- On the Customer Portal login page
- Within the portal dashboard
💳 Credit Card Payment Preferences
These settings allow you to control when and how customers can pay by credit card.
- Allow Credit Card Payments: Configure when you will accept Credit Card payments.
- Enable Invoice Amount Thresholds: Set a value threshold for Credit Card payments.
- Add Credit Card Surcharge: Based on due date.
- Include Surcharge for Amounts: Based on invoice value
- Surcharge Percentage: Enter the surcharge rate (maximum: 2.9%)
- Surcharge Account: Choose an income account to post surcharge amounts for cash application
- Transaction Fee Account: Choose an expense account to post transaction fees charged by Centime for proper cash application
These settings can be configured globally or per customer from the Customer Profile side panel. Customer-level customization ensures compliance with state and card network surcharge regulations.
🏦 ACH Payment Preferences
These settings allow you to control when and how customers can pay by ACH (bank transfer).
Settings Options:
- Allow ACH Payments: Configure when you will accept Credit Card payments.
- Enable Invoice Amount Thresholds: Set a value threshold for ACH payments.
- Apply ACH Discount: Offer a discount % to customers paying via ACH
- Discount Account: If ACH discounts are enabled, select an expense account for reconciling ACH discounts. This is required to ensure proper posting of discounted transactions.
- Transaction Fee Account: Choose an expense account to post transaction fees charged by Centime for proper cash application
These settings can be configured globally or per customer from the Customer Profile side panel. Customer-level customization ensures compliance with state and card network surcharge regulations.
🏷️ Early Payment Discounts
If term discounts are part of your process, select an expense account for reconciling early pay discounts. This is required to ensure proper posting of discounted transactions. If a discount account is missing, posting will fail for any discounted invoice.
Discounts are automatically applied when a payment is made within the eligible window based on the invoice terms.
👥 Provide access to the Customer Portal
You can enable or disable Customer Portal access at the individual customer level from the payment tab in the Customer Profile. You can also modify ACH and Credit Card settings.
Access: All contacts saved in the customer profile will be able to log into the Customer Portal. If you want to provide access to someone not listed in the Accounting System. You can either add them in the Accounting System or add them directly to Centime (these contracts will not sync to the Accounting System).
The Customer Portal URL is the same for all customers, this link can be copied and shared anywhere you’d like. We recommend linking from your website and invoices.
